Will the ADVC110 works with Mac Dual G5 / Leopard OSX? |
| Answer: |
|
The answer is yes, it will work with every Mac OS from 10.1 and above, including Leopard (10.5). ADVC products don't care what processor you have (G5 or Intel-based, it doesn't matter), as long as you have a 6-pin FireWire port on your computer. If it's a Dual G5 Mac, that system should have at least two.

Does T2 support Quick Time files? |
| Answer: |
|
Yes (import only initially; export Summer of 2010).
The T2 actually supports Quick Time quite well in that T2 will transcode QT "wrapped" files including DV, DVCPROHD, H.264, and ProRes 422. As the product ships today, it is very "picky" for lack of a better word as to the resolutions and frame-rates that it will see and transcode. Attached is a document that details what files T2 will work with, without engaging any external transcoding products. You will see several QT formats identified. We have also found that QT Animation files work extremely well, transcode fast, and the quality of the output is exceptional.
